April 14 and May 19 Frost Valley's naturalists will lead hikes to waterfalls.  Spril 21 enjoy Mothers' Day tea at the Bevier House Museum.  April 28th Saunderskill Farm hosts the Draft Horse Association's annual Spring Plow.  Take a wagon ride, bring the kids. April 29, experience Sacred Circle Ritual Dance--Ancient Forms/Modern Times to honor the web of life at MaMa in Stone Ridge. Paragon Jousting returns to Ulster County Fairgrounds for the Hudson Valley Mayfaire May 5-6. Sat., May 19, Catskill Native Nursery hosts their annual Wildflower Festival.  Learn about  herbalism, Wild Mushroom Foraging, Forest Biodiversity.  Also, don't miss Phools Parade, where Artists, Musicians, Theater and Puppet Troupes, participate in a movable art parade with Ratboy Jr and the Sweet Clementines.   May 26 the Woodstock-New Paltz Crafts Fair at the Ulster County Fairgrounds is one of the nation's largest.

Hi, I'm Mike Jacobson, aka Jake, the owner and proprietor of Emerald Forest Bungalows.  My goal is to give you an experience that is good and wholesome.  In other words, a whole lot at a fair price.  The summer season was awesome!  The heat, the pool, the very cold swimming holes, the BBQs, the camp fires, the quests!  I have to say that the people who have stayed at our cabins over the years are the best.  Good wholesome people, some who have become good friends of ours.  Thanks everyone for staying at Emerald Forest Bungalows.  So to the rest of you I say come and stay a while.  We have fully furnished one and two bedroom bungalows/cottages for rent, a salt water pool, a two acre pond that is stocked with large mouth bass and 75 acres to frolic in.

Swayze became a star in 1987 with his performance as the misunderstood, leather-clad bad boy Johnny Castle in ''Dirty Dancing.''  The coming-of-age romance established him as a romantic leading man. He starred opposite Jennifer Grey as a sexy (and much older) working-class dance instructor at a Catskills resort who proved to have more heart, integrity and sex appeal than many of the wealthy guests with whom he was forbidden to fraternize.  The film made great use of both his grace on his feet and his muscular physique.  Swayze's 20-month battle with advanced pancreatic cancer ended when he died Monday, September 14.  He was 57.  The Catskills were once America's largest resort area.
